it’s dark and parking garages are cold

by Jason Alan

it’s dark

and parking garages are cold

the sands of time reside

falling

betwixt the fingers

of a dying goddess

betrayed

by the free will of mankind

“pity this busy monster, manunkind”

as cummings put it so well

so many years ago

if he could see us now

how far and fast we race

to get to nowhere

it’s dark

and parking garages are so,

so cold…
